Large Business Backbone Network

Unlike small to medium size business networks that typically share resources over a defined geographic area or even within a single building, large networks or backbone networks will typically serve multiple business locations across the nation or around the world. Enterprise backbone networks establish the ability to communicate with many LANs and sub networks within the business organization and provide the ability to share information and resources between existing network resources. Middle market companies (that don’t require the full resources of an enterprise backbone) often feature dedicated internal networks, external networks for internet access and remote employee access and a mini backbone to tie the networks together.
